Walking tour of the Murals of Leamington Spa

10.30am to 12.30pm

Led by Tim Robottom

If you attended the talk on the Art of Graffiti given by Tim Robottom, you will welcome the
chance to join him in an exclusive 1½-hour (approx.) walking tour of his Leamington Spa
murals. If you missed his talk, in 2010 Tim founded Brink Contemporary Arts which
specialises in murals, street art and graffiti by public and private commission. The Lady of
Shrubland Street (see previous page), which Art Friends Warwickshire funded in 2024, was Tim’s
creation.
Tim personally will lead the walk with about 15 members (and their guests if space permits)
around the streets of south Leamington and along stretches of the canal to look at murals,
many of which Tim painted under the name of Lord Numb, many unknown even to locals.
They will include the beautiful Lady of Shrubland Street which took him and a fellow artist
five days to complete. Another very striking mural of a cat was painted by an artist from
Venice in California.

  • The walk will start at 10.30 at the mural of the Elephant Wash  and last for nearly two hours. It will end at the Micro-Pug https://themicropug.com/ café in Brunswick Street where participants can enjoy an excellent cup of coffee.
  • Note that, except when walking on the canal tow path, there is not much shade on this walk and few places to sit. Also, most of the route is flat but does include some flights of steep steps.

Rendezvous:

  • To find the Elephant Wash mural, best walk down Priory Terrace (on the left of All Saints church) and when this road divides into three, take the road on the left, Mill Road. As the latter bends to the right, the mural is on the left of that road, just before one comes to Mill Bridge which crosses the Leam River into Jephson gardens.
  • Timing: 10.30am Assemble for tour start. 12-12.30pm End of tour at MicroPug Café.
  • Parking: On-street parking often limited to 2 hours but St Peter’s car park is nearby and West Street car park is £1.95 for 4 hours.
