Visit to The Lord Leycester, Warwick
4th December
During our visit Dr Heidi L Meyer, Master of The Lord Leycester, will talk about her experiences of bringing this lovely black and white survivor in the centre of Warwick up to date. She says..
No-one takes lightly the complexity of restoring one of the most important medieval buildings in Europe – unless you have no idea of what you’re embarking on!
As Master of the Lord Leycester, five years ago I visualised a quest to render the Lord Leycester fit for purpose – financially viable as a charity and as a heritage site. How little I understood the challenges that awaited me. Now my hair is grey, and joy means never seeing a skip again! But joy is also understanding how we got there: now the Lord Leycester is positioned to offer visitors to our half-timbered treasure a visual and intellectual treat … and strong footfall means our survival into the future.
Join us in a special visit to include Christmas lunch.
If you want to come and don’t drive, Marianne will try to organise a lift for you. To consult her click HERE.
