A VISIT TO KELMSCOTT MANOR
Lechlade, Gloucestershire, GL7 3HJ
Wednesday 3 May 2023 10.30 – 13.30
In January we heard how the friends of William Morris did much to create Kelmscott Manor as it is today. We now invite you to visit the manor and see for yourself the furniture, furnishings and artwork that gives much to the character of the house.
After tea or coffee on arrival, we will have an introduction to the house, then we are free to wander round and soak up the atmosphere created by artists of the past.
A buffet lunch in the tea room will follow, then you are free to have a look round the Cotswolds – perhaps a visit to nearby Buscot Park, home to Lord Farringdon, which includes fine paintings by Sir Joshua Reynolds, Angelika Kaufmann, Gainsborough and Richard Wilson. Bring your National Trust card for entry.
There is a new car park in Kelmscott village, to be found at GL7 3HF, and there is an electric shuttle bus for those who don‘t fancy the 10 minute walk to the house.
Timing:
10.30 Tea and coffee, introductory talk, free-flow viewing
12.30 (approx.) – 13.30 Buffet lunch

Price per ticket including refreshments and lunch: £35
